Promoting sustainable steel in the construction sector

UK Cares required a one-day training course to update its auditors on sustainability management practice, materiality and reporting. The course objective was to ensure auditors could talk confidently with their clients not only about the specifics of environmental management of steel production for example, but also about wider corporate sustainability management practices. The end goal for UK Cares was to promote client buy-in to sustainable development concepts, and develop a strategic understanding of key issues and approaches on the ground in the client’s businesses.

Our associate provided a structured course agreed with UK Cares, and geared to participants’ expectations. The delivery was a mix of classroom and kinaesthetic learning, to maximise the interactivity and engagement of the participants.
The course content featured sessions on, for example Implications for business of sustainable development risks, with example sustainable development principles and practices, Benefits of disclosure, including GRI, Global Compact, ISO26000, AA1000AS assurance expectations, sustainability reporting and KPIs and an exercise on sustainable development risk prioritisation (‘materiality’).
